The operation of reducing the abdomen (abdominoplasty) involves removing excess skin and fat tissue that usually hangs. In most cases, liposuction is also performed in order to improve the aesthetic result in the transitional zones. Abdominoplasty is performed by cutting through the lower abdomen (later this cut is not visible because it is in the so-called bikini zone, ie it is covered with the undergarment) mobilizes the skin and tightens the entire abdominal wall, the excess skin is removed and the rest of the skin is straight and tapered until the navel is re positioned. The operation lasts about 3 hours. The operation is performed under general anesthesia, and after the procedure patients are kept under observation in the Polyclinic until the next morning. The recovery lasts for about 4 weeks after which return to sports activities is allowed. Returning to work activities is possible after 7 to 14 days.
