Indications for mole removal may be aesthetic or medical. Medical indications include the removal of dermoscopically suspicious or changed mole which has the possibility of malignant transformation. For cosmetic indications we speak of clinically and dermatologically safe moles, but the patient wants to remove it because of its location, interference with daily life (trauma) or the aesthetic appearance is unacceptable. They are removed in the outpatient setting, under local anesthesia, and the mole is then sent for pathohistological analysis. The procedure takes about 20 minutes and the patient returns immediately to normal life activities. Sutures are removed after 7-14 days, depending on the localization where the surgery was performed.
