Face Lifting, more precisely, aesthetic facial tightening, is the most significant procedure in facial aesthetic surgery. The most common and most important aesthetic operations in this group of rejuvenation operations aims to restore the face contour to a position when the face was younger. Face lifting is also the basis for all other aesthetic operations on the face and can be combined with other surgical and non-surgical interventions in the region. Face lifting does not only tighten the skin of the face, but also the skin of the neck. Candidates for surgery are usually individuals between the ages of 50 and 70. The procedure is performed in general anesthesia. The incision is usually placed in the scalp, in front of the ear and, if more extensive tightening of the neck is needed, behind the ear. Smaller incision can be made under the chin and below the lower jaw for the purpose of liposuction. The recovery time depends on the size and severity of the procedure. The compressive bandage around the head and face will be worn 7 to 14 days after the operation followed by the removal of the sutures. Scars are usually unnoticeable and invisible, hidden in the scalp or in the natural creases in front and behind the ears. The first results are visible after 14 days and the final after 6 – 12 months. The results sometimes last for more than 10 years.
